Other Concepts . Earlier Thoughts . When Tidy in other words, was not sure . Deep feelings of ambivalence towards the project, which now have been resolved enough to stop the tummy from girgling . .

 

To take experiences from the 1st 2 ep's, and free their results into fully fledged pieces of music. Each track will have a plan and concept before starting. Each track will have a conclusive state which will then result in a rules table, with further concepts to be brought to the on stage sound. Solo composing, but band orientated live touring. Each country, new players. They all get a concept book with their task. They bring what they want to bring to the table after devouring my visions. They form an unique sound for their place and the time in which we perform. All countries will be filmed and recorded, to show a post effect of how the environment effected the popular song performance state. Friendships will be created. Result will fuel the next step of the flow.

 

14 Tracks for album. I will place 14 pieces of paper into an old coffee jar. They will have 7 points below equator, and 7 points above an equator. As I pick the track, it will tell me how the creation of the piece will come to be. For example, point 7 above will be the hit single, point 7 below the line will be some track deep within the unconditioned psyche. What will I pick out first, ohhhhh i'm excited, hehehehehehehe, evil laugh with teddy watching.

The Album to be released in 2008 is currently being created. Mostly created in the Studio, home programming and method restrictions are still in play, however early restrictions from the first 2 EP's have mostly been lifted.

I Drew A Line, the name given to the long player debut will present a time line for the track order, weaving it's way in out of this conditioned world, with tracks to pleasure the human biology and tracks to help open the vent to the no time no space medium.

A limited edition of Vinyl pressings will be released.

Some thoughts as I try to begin.

What you create at this moment, is what was going to be created anyway, so don't stop it from happening, Program, program and do more programming. Cut up sounds you have captured of recent. Slowly let the track evolve out of no idea, apply your first reaction, don't govern your emotions, try and get to the idea by an illusive mistake, act cute, evil and confused during recording, think up concepts and write them down in journal. Don't use full stops they just stop you from working to much and now you may cont but don't stop and when you finish your album you must cont to write after that as well otherwise the gap might be long again between projects and that's something that makes you nervous doesn't it ........ yeah it does ....... why? well because i become more human in those moments of non creativity ..... well that's ok too isn't it .... well no ... good ... so the thing that comes to mind now is that i shouldn't work towards an album i should work one track or group of tracks and the album releases are just the human self popping in every now and then to catalogue moments that represent similar motivations which makes you smile doesn't it ..... yes it does ..... why are you naked? well i just got out of the shower ... ok then ... so i start a track ....................

 

Anyway so what i was getting at is that I will be associating ideas above the line with this world, and sounds below the line turning their back to the safety's and walls that make up this conditioned game. New project rules, thoughts and motivations, realizations and of course audio as it comes to hand will be added to this page over the next few months. Environments:

 

Home (ideas captured in one take hits) Gear includes sm57, km84, one sm ribbon mic, 99v pre amp, mbox, laptop, genelec speakers, nord lead 3 synth. Lots of 5 string nylon guitars, my voice.

Portable (prepared found sounds) Gear includes sm57, km 84, laptop, mbox.

Studio Track (prepared samples) Studio equipment is vast ahhhhhhh, this is where I create sound libraries of many different textures, many found objects, using lots of different transducing techniques. Top notch gear/converters/clock.

Studio Mix (bring in finished tracks) Mix on modified yamaha pm2000 vintage desk, with assortment of outboard gear such as universal audio 1176's dbx 160's, Pultec all running through an Aurora Lynx io. So pretty much this side of the project is in a different head space, it's short, only 2hrs is allowed for mixing, it's mainly to just push all sounds into a neat package that can translate to the common ear. Warm, with mid's mainly in mind.

External Mastering (someone else to master and tick of the tracks) Not much of a change, maybe a few versions, one for digital translation and one for vinyl pressing.

 

Conditioning Rules 3.0

Step 1: Apart from collecting and data basing my own sample library, which started on september 21st 2007 (world peace day) The rules to realise a new track, work in this way alone.

If the subject (tidy kid) is able to go to sleep at 10pm, with clothes laid out next to bed in body fashion and ones wings are strapped to ones bed, then the subject may get up in the morning to sounds of a bear growling from ones mobile phone alarm, at 5.30am. The 5 string classical guitar is placed in ones hands, and with a single mic the subject starts to play for 30minutes, which doubles as a mediation cycle. Eyes closed at times, but viewing the early secondary sun light emanating over the houses of Brisbane will be part of the visible additives.

From this material, it is stored, and a few words are documented about what dreams the subject woke up from, and this info is data based along with the audio.

 

Step 2:

The subject can then at a later stage, when one see's fit, to read the dream notes, listen to the nylon guitar material, and select a portion without editing for a under the line track, or cut and paste and manipulate the performance, if the dream notes were scarce, which will translate into an above the line track.
